Pals new limit on how often you can send text that was implemented during the holidays seems to have now been removed. Or at least not implemented as strictly.

44Software is closing their doors after 9 years, citing reasons that I am also familiar with.
9 years is a long time.... as a fellow developer, I can imagine how many thankless man hours went into their software... And they offered several different scoring and specialty game programs!

The forum is at last back online. Since the old forum was no longer being supported, I was unable to transfer the old database. So, if you sign up to the new forum with your nic from the old forum, I'll gladly add back your post totals so you can keep your status.
As always, you do not have to be a member of the forum to read any of its content or search its database. The forums are open to all LoonYProgS software users, players, scorers, et all.
I still have the old database archived and will make it availbale for searching soon.

If you use this yahoo chat client, you should read this post from their forum. The versions in question of said program, contains code which will edit and/or remove files from your machine that are deemed "malicious".
If you do not have the version described in the link above, do NOT allow your yahelite to auto update.

With Yahoo recently dropping several of the lower protocols, the Scobot will no longer complete a successful log in. Instead, you will see the following message
Login Error. I doubt I will continue developing the ScoBot feature in future versions of the NDS.
The current NDS version available, is not compatible with Ymessenger 9. It is still compatible with current versions of YhElite and Yzak.
Not sure of the status of yahoo trivia. Last several times I checked, there were no voice trivia rooms open. At one time, trivia players made up a large part of the yahoo scene. But yahoo has managed to run most everyone off due to security issues, exploits and lag. Its a shame.
The site is now semi funtional, with most all links working. All downloads are up and running.
There may be some short outtages or slow response times while I continue to work on the site. Email me if you have problems or questions concerning the site, scorers or etc.
Note: Scoring programs are under the menu item, software.Work on the new site is slow,, but the process of building a new site, though daunting at first, has been rather enjoyable, so far.
I thought I would try my hand at coding the site in css and xhtml. So far the results, to me anyway, have been pretty good. Css is fun to work with and the syntax easy to grasp. Xhtml is basically just html, only streamlined. I reccomend these two languages to anyone interested in web design.
Been working on getting a useable site going for 3 days.... I need a break.

The LPPalScore has been updated to V101. Besides being 9.4 compatible, this version has several new options and updates.

The LPMultiScore has also been updated to V101 to be compatible with Pal 9.4
The current version of the LPPalScore is not compatable with the current Paltalk beta 9.4. The LPPalScore has already been updated, but will not be released until Pal 9.4 comes out of beta. This saves me the trouble of weekly updating and you the trouble weekly downloading to stay current.
The current LPPalScore still works for all pal versions9.3 and below.Lots of new things on the horizon here at LoonYProgS. The LPPalScore is soon to be out of beta and I have several new programs for Pal in the works, thanks to input from You. Also, the NDS is back on the project desk and getting a makeover as well as a thinning... Yahoo has left many of its features obsolete. I'm also cleaning out my "client projects/half finished/proof of concept" drawer. These programs are old utilities and tools I've made over the years that maybe someone else can get some use out of. So watch for those also.
Over the holiday season, I received several emails asking "Do I have to upgrade Paltalk in order for my scorer to work?", the answer is "of course not". You continue to use your old version of Pal v8-v9x. If you update Pal and it wont work, let me know.

The LPMultiScore has been updated to fix an error with the AutoWin and a problem with target score detection. The LPMultiScorePAL has also been released to work with Paltlk.
Let me know how they perform.
Normally, it has been my practice to complete a program fully before releasing it. But this time around I'm releasing a public beta. The LPPalScore is a scoring program for PalTalk and is a work in progress. If you have options you want added to this program, request them either via the LPPS Forum or Email.
Remember, this program is in "beta" it is sure to have bugs, typos and
etc. I'm asking you, the trivia addict, to be my beta testers. If you
find a bug or typo or have a option you think would make the program
better, report it. Posting bugs or etc to your local chat room or group page dosnt help, as I cant see these. So let ME know.
Also, TriviaFunForum as well as TotallyInternationalTrivia have now moved to PalTalk. Check their respective group pages for more info.
What with all the past Yahoo problems and groups dissolving/reforming and moving, it has left my Yahoo Trivia page in a somewhat of a shambles. Ill be updating this page soon but please check this page and let me know the status of your favorite room.
Concerning Yahoo,, With the new Yahoo9Beta messenger now out, it is
unknown if the NDS and the LPMultiScore still work. Let me know pls.
LPGallowsPole V1 has been released. This program was built by request
and plays like wheeloffourtune/hangman. You can view a small help file
by clicking the programs icon in the upper left. Special thanks to YB
and Psych for their work in helping develope and beta test this project.
Since the release of the last debut, the LPMultiScore, there has been
little to no feedback. Feedback is what keeps projects up-to-date and
funtional and iniciates new programs. If you find bugs or have
suggestions that might make any program better or easier to use, post
them in the appropiate forum.
All rooms are up and functioning. The captcha is annoying,, but serving it's purpose.. so far.
NDS V3.1.0 released 2007-09-12 - NDS V310 is now available. This version brings back the ScoBot with the additon of the captcha login. There are also a few new requested
options such as client support, score send edit and more.

For most clients, including the ScoBot, the following message is sent when trying to join a room.
Before you can change rooms, you'll need to verify your account by
clicking on the link provided above. This step is required before
you can enter a chat room.
Until I can study their captcha room enter technique, the ScoBot will be offline.
Currently there only two open rooms. TM1 and TM2.
I believe this change also renders all messenger versions except the latest to enter a room. Can anyone verify this?
Edit - 9:00 cst Trivia Madness! rooms are open. If your favorite room is not open, open it.
Wow.... Yahoo has really went to hell. I don't know if any of you were
aware of the Aug13 server updates they performed, but once they were
finished it seemed to open up a floodgate of problems.. on top of
problems.
The rooms are full... all 69 of them. This makes joining a room next to
impossible. Since the update, yahoo handles a full room request by
simply tossing you into the next room with less than 50 within the
same "thread". So if using the ScoBot, you'll be extremely lucky if you
actually get him to log in to the room you intend. Same goes for any of
the chat clients. It's a yahoo issue and nothing can be done about it
til yahoo fixes it.
Some have moved to Paltlk and I'm sure others will follow. I've started
a basic scorekeeper for Paltlk and need beta testers. Send me a email
if your interested. I don't personally recommend Paltlk. It has lots of
lag and questionable data gathering habits. But at least you can join a
room and play a game of trivia. Not been able to do that in yahoo for
some time....
(Edit - There are now 100 Trivia Madness! rooms)
(Edit - Aug24-Yahoo is once again sending the packet for full/non exitant room. Its a step in the right direction anyway...
With GoTrivia vacating to Paltlk... TriviaForUs(T4U) is now open in TM5, offering "24 Trivia". Help support this new group by visiting their group page and joining them in Trivia Madness!:5.
Also, AnalFreeTrivia(AFT) has changed their name to Always Chilled Trivia(ACT). They still play in Trivia Madness!:10, and have a nice looking group page.

The most recent spell of room lag and the long wait to enter a room
seems to have passed... This last bout of yahoo annoyances was
particularly hard on the functionality of the ScoBot, but, it is now
logging in and changing rooms quickly!
Also, there is a new trivia group starting up and they are looking for
able minded persons to help out.. If your interested, check out this thread.
As of this writing, the room lists seem to be listing correctly. The Trivia Rooms list in the NDS is also working again. Now if only the lag would subside, Yahoo might be worth logging into again.
Small update of the LPMultiScore . By request, added an option to choose between a sorted and unsorted list, and an option to clear entire players list or reset current players to zero.
The LPMultiScore Version 1 has been released. Built by request, it
offers individual player scoring and I hope it inspires people to
create new games around it. Ive not had time to put a tutorial together
yet... but a small help file can be viewed by clicking on the LPMulti icon

Normally, I'd say to completely ignore messages that appear to come
from "Yahoo" itself, but it seems that the recent messages sent out
to all users from Yahoo! Messenger Team are legit and all users
should expect downtime starting Dec 8 @ 5:30pm PST.
Lets hope they are
using this time wisely and adding more servers to ease this lag that
has went on way to long.

Small NDS update to fix a pgp and a game length timer bug. If YOU find bugs... just post them to the forum.
Ive recieved reports that the ScoBot is slow to log in or pauses for lenghty amounts of time when attempting to join a room. This problem is also found on most clients as well as yahoo itself. It may help if you switch servers on your ScoBot, other than that...just have to wait it out.
A small update to fix a bug in the auto-win/pgp option. Also, I was
recently included in a disscussion about whether the proper term to use
was "Possible Game Point" or "Game Point"...... so I added an option to
choose which ever you wish.

Latest version of the NDS has been released. If you have any problems,
check out the updated NDS tutorial or just ask in the forum.

The Chat2 option via web browser chat has been removed, but, the
protocol itself is still working with the ScoBot as well as the chat
clients. We'll see how long it lasts....

November 1st is the last day for the CHAT2 protocol according to Yahoo.
The loss of CHAT2, the last semi unbootable protocol, forces everyone
into the last remaining protocol YMSG. The loss of all the lesser
protocols and the removal of options such as /goto and /follow as well
as the lower text send limits I guess is all still part of the WLM
integration, but its turning Yahoo into a unusable, lagging, over sized
and memory intensive piece of junk....
I'm only slightly bitter... the loss of CHAT2 means that not only do
have to re-write the ScoBot, it also impacts other projects of mine,
both past and present. I hope to have the new NDS released before the Nov
1st date... just have to see how it goes.
Yahoo has cut the maximum number of characters to send at once down to 300 for the ScoBot and some clients.... It seems they have also removed the "/goto" command used by all clients as well as "/follow". Until version V3 is released, youll have to edit the size of your Rules and any other text sent by the ScoBot to 300 characters or less... If you use the NDS with messenger you'll need to edit the size down to 255, depending on version ... thanks yahoo :|
The new site is up... well kinda... Ive still a million things to do
but finding time doesn't come as easy as it use to. Id been wanting to
move the site for the last two years, but only
now had the opportunity to make the move. I spent 4 years hosting with
Geocities and had zero problems so I recommend them if you want to host
a small site, but the limited bandwidth made offering anything of any
size up for download a pain. This new place will be more comfy.
A few notes about the site... registration is required to post in the
Forum just like the old
site.. unfortunately, I'm unable to carry over all the names and posts
from the old forum so
you'll need to register again with the new one. The old forum will
still be available for view but all new posts should be addressed to
the new forum. Also.. by registering you get access to sections the
unregistered do not.
About the NDS.. First off, Thanks to You for making the NDS the success
it's been(over 700 downloads of the first two versions total!) It makes
all the hours coding it worthwhile... I
had hoped that with that many NDS scorers in use that I'd have gotten
more feed back than I have... I encourage everyone to let me know how
it works for you, what you'd like to see
added, how it can be made better and anything else you'd like to
comment on concerning the
NDS. Just direct your comments here. The new NDS V3 to be released soon...
About the ScoBot.. The ScoBot is currently unable to login thanks to recent Yahoo "fixes".
Oddly....two complete yahoo login servers seem to be inoperable, rendering the poor ScoBot
helpless. The new release of the NDS will be out soon and fixes the current ScoBot problem.
If these two servers should happen to comeback online ill let you know here.. till then the
NDS still works using it in conjunction with Yahoo Messenger. NOTE - The ScoBot is logging in again!!
New Programs... I'm also working on several new programs concerning Yahoo... some will go
into beta testing soon. so watch for those...
The Tagboard... Ive brought the tag board over from the old site...
its use is really just for quick messages or just for "tagging". You
should use the forums to ask questions, as the tagboard does not allow
space enough to answer.
